IOM TT 2010

Postby PaulW » Mon Jun 15, 2009 5:21 pm

Ok ok so its a year till the next TT, but just wondering if anyone might be going over for it??

Last time I was over there when the TT was on was when I was a wee nipper, so looking at going next year if I can :) Keep saying I'll go back home all the time but never do, so I'm making sure I go for the duration next year so already looking at getting things booked and sorted ready! Although I have *no* idea what I'm letting myself in for

Anything and Everything pretty much! Best place or way to stay, info on where to get to, etc...

I'm Manx myself, but my family moved to England when I was just a baby so it's been quite some time since I was last there!

The party side of the place was a bit lacking this year. But the racing was excellent. Do you intend to bring a bike over with you or would you just come as a foot passenger?

I will be biking over, it's something I've wanted to do for a while now since first getting my little Honda, and want to do even more so now I am looking for something bigger!

How much is the Ferry? I've just been looking at steam-packet.com and it was a £40 deposit from the 29th may - 13th June

Also what are the campsites/B&B's priced like and food/drink?

I defo think we should get some sort or posse together for the trip!!

If you can get a few of you together hire a van and stuff all the bikes in the back that way you only pay for one van. Save a fortune. Campsites and facilities vary Glen Lough is one of the best and its on the course depends how near to douglas you want to be. Dav1d comes over and stays in Onchan Football clubs campsite He will have a better idea of prices. the I.O.M tourist board are also very helpful. Just Google them.

That sounds like a very good idea about the van Simon! Can also get a load of camping gear in the back too, amongst other things!

Dont forget we still have the Southern 100 and Manx Grand Prix which are both upcoming events. Not the party atmosphere of the TT but still worth a look and Slightly cheaper too.

Sorry guys they only grow on the Isle of Man. No Alistair Darling to prune them with the swingeing tax cutters.

About £95 to £105 each way depends on time and date of sailing
Campsite at onchan was £8 per person this year
Cans of beer £1 on site
Food about normal prices
B & B's you will need to start looking early 'cause they get booked up.

If your going 29th may it will be very quiet there until mid practise week.

You can always try homestay. you stay in someones house as long as you are tidy and don't create any mess or disruption it's a cheaper alternative to b&b visit I.O.M. tourism on the web for more details.
